In this screenprinting workshop, students will have the chance to transform their own drawing or design into a collection of hand-printed wearable items or accessories. Perfect for those looking to bridge their interest in fine art with design practices, this hands-on and informative workshop will yield a small collection of printed fabric items with students’ original designs.
Students will come to the class prepared with a bold black and white drawing, a high-contrast photo, or a digital design. We can use Illustrator or Photoshop files, although text typed in Word and photocopies are also acceptable. Students will learn how to make their artwork “print-ready,” burn a screen, and screenprint their design.
We will provide a tote bag for printing, but students may bring a few items of their choosing. Fabric items must have a flat surface, for example: t-shirts, tote bags, bandanas or tea towels.
