Design Process

Tranqui Print designs use line, shape, and color to create forms that camouflage, bounce, slither, and climb. These designs take pattern and color on a parade of freestyle dance moves, inspired by funk and cumbia beats. Infused with humor, peppered with historical research, and highlighted by our pair of undeniably tropi-pop shades, these print designs are a celebration of the eco-sphere of life in Miami.

Every design begins as a drawing, with a set of traditional materials like pencils and watercolor paint. They then get scanned and tweaked in design software to bring clarity to the imagery and the palette. Once satisfied with these designs, they are shared with our manufacturers who advise us on color adjustments for printing, dyeing, and washing processes. It’s only after several test rounds and prototypes that we finally settle on a design to be developed for bulk production.

At our core, we believe that fun, well-designed, and colorful printed attire shouldn’t be limited to kids or womens wear, which is why Tranqui designs have guys in mind - in spirit, in attitude, and in style.
