Real Mermaids

Weeki Wachee Mermaids performing their true Florida spectacle in style

Weeki Wachee Springs State Park

A magical encounter with the Mermaids of Weeki Wachee in an enchanted Florida State Park. I borrowed a few words from their website, but to be frank- it did feel like magic watching these performers through a thick pane of glass in a human-size aquarium theatre built way back in 1947. Embedded in a natural lime stone spring, Weeki Wachee means “Little Spring” or “Winding River”, the name given by the Seminoles. And as you watch the show, complete with Elvis songs (an early attendee), underwater acrobatics, and rubber hoses to supply the sirens with their true life force (air)- you can’t help but feel the weird and wonderful authentic style of Old Florida.

More inspiration to log into the design phase of the Tranqui Brand and the apparel, Designed in Miami, that exudes the style, colors, and authentic nature of the sunshine state. Whether it’s a Mermaid themed pair of socks, snazzy shorts, or fresh printed shirt, you can bet these magical underwater sirens will find a way into the Florida-based clothing line that is Tranqui Prints.
